Practice Scope & Operating Guidelines

These Terms of Service govern the optometric services, computerized auto-refraction checkups, spectacle frame sales, and custom prescription lens dispensing provided by Shrinetra Optical (“the clinic”), located at Sabji Mandi lane, Khojwan Road, Sunderpur Chauraha, Varanasi 221005.

By accessing this website (shrinetraoptical.in) or receiving clinical services in-store, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and practice disclaimers.

Non-Emergency Optometric Care Disclaimer

Important Medical Clarification:

Our computerized auto-refractor examinations and trial lens evaluations evaluate optical refractive errors (myopia/nearsightedness, hyperopia/farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia) for the purpose of dispensing corrective spectacles and contact lenses.

These tests do NOT diagnose internal retinal pathologies, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, or acute corneal infections, and do NOT replace emergency ophthalmic surgical hospital care.

If you experience sudden vision loss, severe ocular trauma, chemical splash, flashing lights with dark floaters, or extreme pain, bypass retail opticians and seek immediate emergency care at BHU Sir Sunderlal Hospital Ophthalmology Department or the nearest specialized eye emergency center.

Prescription Accuracy & Dispensing Guarantee

We stand behind every spectacle prescription dispensed in our clinic:

  • Dual-Verification Protocol: Every digital auto-refractor reading is verified with subjective trial frames and cross-cylinder confirmation before prescribing.
  • Optical Center & PD Alignment: All lenses are edged in optical laboratories strictly aligned to the patient’s measured pupillary distance (PD) and pantoscopic tilt.
  • Prescription Tolerance Guarantee: If you experience discomfort with lenses made strictly to our in-house prescription within 14 days of dispensing, our optometrists will re-evaluate your vision and re-make lenses at zero additional lab fee if adjustments are needed.
  • External Doctor Prescriptions: When dispensing lenses based on prescriptions from outside ophthalmologists or clinics, lenses are made strictly to the specified parameters provided.

Progressive (Multifocal) Lens Adaptation Policy

Progressive lenses require neural adaptation as the brain adjusts to corridor transitions between distance, intermediate (computer), and reading zones:

Standard Adaptation Period: 7 to 14 days of consistent daily wear is typical for first-time progressive wearers.

Complimentary Realignment: Patients are invited to our Sunderpur clinic at any time for nose pad adjustments, frame leveling, and vertex distance tuning to optimize corridor clarity.

Manufacturer Warranty & Lens Coatings Policy

We dispense certified optical coatings with transparent warranty terms:

  • Coating Integrity Warranty: Premium Anti-Reflective Coating (ARC) and Blue-Cut coatings include a 1-year manufacturer warranty against premature coating peel, crazing, or delamination under normal cleaning conditions.
  • Warranty Exclusions: Warranty does not cover accidental impact, crushing, pet damage, deep scratches from abrasive cloths (paper towels/clothing), chemical burns, or exposure to excessive heat (e.g., car dashboards).
  • Complimentary Frame Service: Minor screw tightening, ultrasonic cleaning, and nose pad replacements are provided free of charge for all eyewear purchased at Shrinetra Optical.

Appointments, Walk-ins & Store Hours

We operate on an open walk-in policy as well as reserved WhatsApp consultation slots:

Standard Clinic Hours Monday through Saturday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM. Walk-ins are accommodated continuously throughout the day.
Fast-Track WhatsApp Booking Patients traveling from BHU, DLW, or rural Varanasi can schedule ahead to reserve priority auto-refractor slots.

Pricing, Payments & Jurisdiction

All lens and frame prices are quoted transparently with zero hidden surcharges:

  • Accepted Payment Methods: Cash, UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM), and major Credit/Debit Cards.
  • Governing Law: These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any legal disputes or claims shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
